Thanks to an unreliable tracker, I now have my new movies to watch for list.

The next time you put up fakes, be sure to not let us generate a watch-out-for list. I previously had some trouble selecting which new video to look for, but now, thanks to fake posts, I am able to generate a decent movies-to-watch list.

Bittorrent is essentially an internet protocol designed for the purpose of allowing the exchange of files and data across a massive community of users sharing common interests. The simplicity and complexity of the protocol's design reveals its potential for the once unimaginable virtually uninhibited distribution of large files and electronic media. The startpoint is a metadata - which can sit and be hosted anywhere. The crucial next point is the tracker or a list thereof. After that, DHT and Peer Exchange can take over, and subsequently, one can have a purely (uttered with some hesitance) decentralized peer-to-peer filesharing experience. While initially thought of as ingenious, the idea on the use of trackers can also become the nightmare (and eventually, a controllable annoyance) of the bittorrent protocol. Only the intelligence of tracker hosts and bittorrent clients will be able to solve this latest plague of a problem.

In theory, tracker listing hosts (TorrentZ et al) should be able to keep track of the most reliable tracker servers (TPB, PRQ, Demonoid), the more reliable ones (private) and then the traps and blackholes being set up by angry media production crews and their hired law firms and militia.

This document attempts to list the most unreliable trackers that report awfully bloated figures on the swarms of each bittorrent fileset. This is the weakness of bittorrent as a protocol, which is unsolvable by design. But this weakness can be mitigated (very soon enough) by the very agile and adoptable technologies being adopted by your favorite tracker listing hosts and torrent clients (uTorrent et al).

TorrentZ, other torrent sites and even clients (as an optional feature) should watch out for fake trackers and remove them from their tracker lists. This is the next technical challenge for the bittorrent world.

Obviously, this list will be updated from time to time. And I declare the existence (not the content) of this document to be unreliable as well.

I took some video footage of the Drupal Day 2008 September 11 event held at the offices of Exist and MorPH Labs at the G2VC Innovation Center, The Orient Square, F. Ortigas Road (formerly Emerald Ave.), Ortigas Center, Pasig City and here is the result of that.

I got tired of trying to compile the messy video files I currently have (I still have a lot of pending video editing tasks to do, and these aren't work related at all). Maybe I am just to busy with everything that's going on with my life right now so I am now just sharing this AS IS WHERE IS via the Bittorrent protocol.

There are 29 video files all eating up 394 MB's in there. Each of the vids have been compressed and encoded using XViD technology at 480x368 WxH pixels on normally 29fps ranging from 800 to 3000+ kbps data rate, and on AC3 audio near 256 kbps bitrate (Segment 27 is on 192 kbps).

I chose to track this packaged download at Demonoid as I have a fairly good standing account there. I'll try to up these videos on YouTube too (username l0l0yd) but it's best that you don't count on that.
